Jennifer Lynn Hopper, Maud resident, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 60. Jennifer was born on February 3, 1961 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to James Franklin Rumbaugh, Sr. and Harriet Charlote (Brown) Rumbaugh.
Jennifer married Phillip Derward Hopper on February 27, 1984 in Gainsville, TX. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She took great joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Jennifer loved life, laughter and having fun. She was known to be a prankster and would play a joke of family and friends if given a chance. Jennifer enjoyed playing Bingo, attending dirt track races and riding 4 wheelers at the river.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Phillip Derward Hopper; sons, Thomas Hopper of Artesia, NM and James Hopper-Yandell and spouse, Chris Yandell; daughter, Holly Smith and spouse, Clarence of Tecumseh; brother, James Rumbaugh Jr. of Maud; nephew, James Rumbaugh III of Tecumseh and many other family and friends.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma with Pastor Butch Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.
