It is with deep sadness that we announce that Jeffery Lynn Parsons went to be with his Father on January 10, 2025 following a brief illness. It is a great loss to his family, friends, and the service staff of Oklahoma restaurants, whom he tormented by sitting down ten minutes before closing and subjecting them to endless wise-cracks, but generally tipped over 100% to compensate. We will all miss the electric shock that he could be when he turned to you with a joke or a smart-alec comment or a movie recommendation. The only thing that moved faster than his wit was his motorcycles, and he remains the only person we know who has pulled wheelies in front of cops (plural!) and remained a free man to tell the tale.
Jeff was born in Prague, Oklahoma, on August 25, 1961, and he attended high school in Mustang before earning a degree from Oklahoma State University. After graduation, he went to work at Xerox, where he received many awards for being a top salesperson. Aspiring to be the world’s best stockbroker, he worked for Shearson Lehman Brothers, Paine Weber, Prudential, and Wells Fargo, earning President’s Council as a top producer for many years before retiring to Clearwater Beach and then Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
Jeff is preceded in death by his mother, Clara Streeter, his father, Tommy Parsons, and his beloved weiner dog, Cupid. He is survived by his former wife Kandy Cole and their children, Alyssa and husband Tom, Cole and wife Deanna, and Addison and her husband McCann; sister, Nancy Redding, and brother, Tim and wife Carrie.
We are comforted that Dad is past the pearly white gates, in a place where he is free and free of pain, where the restaurants never close and where he can turn up the volume way past eleven.
