Jeff Hinton went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 13, 2010. Jeff, 77, was a longtime Maud, Oklahoma resident. He was born June 30, 1933 in Hyannis, Nebraska to John Carl and Dorthea (Grouns) Hinton. Jeff contracted haying for many years around Valentine, Nebraska, then moved back to Hyannis, Nebraska and opened a gas station and game room for the town’s kids to have a place to go. He moved to the Minor Ranch to work as foremen for nine years. Jeff moved to Oklahoma in 1990 from North Platte, Nebraska and went to work for Bob Raulston in Maud, Oklahoma as caretaker of the ranch on the hill in Maud. Dad then retired after many years of hard work and remained in Maud, Oklahoma. Mr. Hinton was a loving father, husband and grampy. We will miss you Dad. Jeff married Gloria Phillips on February 17, 1956 in Hyannis, Nebraska. His loving wife Gloria Hinton of Maud, Oklahoma; three sons and daughters-in-law; Brett and Sarah Hinton of Burwell, Nebraska, Bartt and Kathy Hinton of Konawa, Oklahoma and Bradd and Christie Hinton of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, a daughter and son-in-law Tena and Doug of North Platte, Nebraska survive Jeff. A sister Thalla R. Wheelock of Hayden, Colorado, Thirteen Grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive Jeff. His parents and one sister Jeaneen House preceded Mr. Hinton in death. Memorial services will be Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Darrell Witten officiating.
