Jean Cheatham-Jackson

Jean Cheatham Jackson, 88, longtime Seminole resident, died in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Jean was born April 26, 1929 in Seminole, Oklahoma to John Walters and Emma (Lydle) Walters. Jean grew up in Seminole and attended Seminole Public Schools and graduated from Seminole High School. Jean had been living near her family in Bixby, Oklahoma for the past 9 years. Jean was a homemaker, substitute teacher and helped her husband Fay Cheatham with the family business, Cheatham’s Service Station in Seminole. Jean and her sister Lena Kistler, started the Little Mission Church of God in Oliver addition in Seminole. Jean was current a member of the Wolf Freewill Baptist Church. Jean loved gardening, birds, socializing and playing dominos and scrabble. Jean will always be remembered as a caring, selfless person who wanted to take care of everyone, feed them and make sure all their needs were met. Jean is survived by her son Danny Cheatham and his wife Connie of Bixby, Oklahoma, her daughter Loralei Wilburn and her husband Grant of Tulsa, Oklahoma, four grandchildren Jimmy Cole and his wife Shauna of Mustang, Oklahoma, Stacie Stogner and her husband Kevin of Standwood, Washington, Grant Wilburn, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Annalei Wilburn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, three greatgrandchildren; Keifer Cole, Gage Cole and Bryce Stogner. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fay Cheatham, the father of her children, who died in 1992, two brothers Jack and Bill Walters and two sisters Lena Kistler and Mildred Lambert. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Rev. Allen Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, Oklahoma.
