Jay Hugh Long, age 94 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010, at Holdenville General Hospital. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5th at Vamoosa Cemetery in Konawa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. Rev. Ed Bray, Pastor of Cross Timbers Church in Konawa will officiate. Jay was born on August 1, 1915 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Viola (Carriger) and Calvin Long. Jay married Sarah (Fiorica). He was a member of the Carpenters Union, and he loved to talk and to tease. Jay also loved animals. He is survived by two sons, James “Butch” Long of Whitefish, Montana, and Jay “Spike” Long of Spokane, Washington; one daughter, Toni Hansen also of Spokane Washington; one sister, Millie Gill of Whitesboro, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Calvin Long; one daughter, Rose Marie Seeberg, and one grandson, Kelly Seeberg.
