Jay Scott Josselyn, Seminole resident, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024 at his home at the age of 60. Jay was born on July 27, 1963 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Jay Arthur and Dorothy Ann (Kilts) Josselyn. He grew up in San Diego, CA and moved a lot and over the years he had lived in Michigan, Virginia, Texas and Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army National Guard. Jay married Daphine E. Stancell on April 28, 2012 in Crowder, OK. He enjoyed his work as a mechanic and machinist.
Jay was the best husband, dad, first born son and oldest brother a family could have. He was loved for his kindness and honesty. He had a big heart and loved animals. He was funny with a quick wit and very smart. Jay had the best memory and could tell stories upon stories about his siblings, some of those stories even they didn’t remember. He was known as Mr. Fix It and could fix anything with a bobby pin - literally. He enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening. Jay is so deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Jay is survived by his wife, Daphine Josselyn of the home; mother, Dorothy Ann Josselyn; two sons, Dayne and Helaena Chaplin of Tecumseh, OK and Sean Chaplin of Dripping Springs, TX; daughter, Cheyenne Josselyn of Seminole, OK; three brothers, Dan Josselyn and wife, Jennifer of King George, VA, Glenn Josselyn and wife, Barbi of Spotsylvania, VA and Paul Josselyn of Herber, UT; four sisters, Paige Douglas and husband, Steve of Herber, UT, Tammy Kupu of Herber, UT and Heather Josselyn of Herber, UT and Amber Francis and husband, Carl of San Diego, CA; grandchild, Cora Chaplin and many other family and friends.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Jay Arthur Josselyn.
A celebration of Jay’s life will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
