Jannie Lyon

Longtime Seminole resident, Jannie Louise Lyon, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 88. She was currently a resident at Seminole Estates Nursing Center.rnrnShe was born on June 6, 1918 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Jeff L. and Roxie (Kemper) Akin. rnrnLouise married Paul Lyon on November 12, 1941 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1998.rnrnShe was a graduate of Konawa High School. Louise was a retired secretary at Pleasant Grove School in Seminole County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Seminole Retired Teacher's Association.rnrnLouise is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Debbie Lyon of Seminole; sister Mary Dorr of Edmond, Oklahoma, and sisters-in-law Bobbie Upton of Seminole and Estelle Lyon of Wewoka. rnShe is also survived by two granddaughters: Trisha and husband Matt Weber of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Traci and husband Nick Gray of Ft. Worth, Texas, rnand one great grandson, Cody Weber of Duncan, Oklahoma. rnrnShe was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Danny Lyon, brothers Frank Akin, Jube Akin, and Bobby Akin, and sisters Kate Sweetman, Virginia Zoeller, and Mildred Streetman.rnrnThe family would like to give special thanks to: the staff of Seminole Estates Nursing Home, Doctors Park Home Health of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Dr. McCrory and the staff of Seminole Medical Center for all the kindness and care they have shown to Louise for many years.rnrnFuneral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole with Tommy Clark officiating.
