Janice Jones Morgan

Janice Jones Morgan, 65, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, formerly longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, died Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Janice was born on March 16, 1952 to Fred and Lula (Kernell) Jones in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She had moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas in 2014. Janice worked for Wrangler in Seminole, for 15 years and retired in 2007. She was a graduate of Pleasant Grove School in 1972. She is survived by her two sons, Michael Ray Morgan of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Matthew and Johnna Morgan of Lavaca, Arkansas, three grandchildren whom she loved very much, Jordan Bailey, Lindsey Layne and Elliot Matthew Morgan, three brothers Richard and Becky Jones, Mark and Tammy Jones and David Jones all of Seminole, Oklahoma, one aunt Dorothy Jones Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by, her parents, Fred and Lula Jones, one brother, John Harry Jones, Paternal grandparents, John and Lizzie Kernell, Maternal grandparents Harry and Lizzie Jones. Wake services will be Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the Achena Presbyterian Church, South east of Maud, Oklahoma, with J.C. Simpson officiating and Bill Hobia assisting. Burial will follow at the Kernell Family Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Mekko Jones, Dakota Jones, Culv Jones, Chris Akens, Ayo Jones, Patrick Fox and Thomas Palmer. Honorary bearers will be Mark Jones, Elliot Morgan, Richard Jones, Mark Alan Jones, David Jones, Jalen Jones, Kenon Jones, Damian Palmer, Grant Palmer, Jimmy Hulbutta, Gage Auld and Trent Palmer. Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
