Janette (Jan) Kay Jackson, 73, longtime Seminole resident, passed away, Sunday, November 29, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jan was born on April 1, 1942 in Ada, Oklahoma to Warren Eugene Berry and Margie Lea (Underwood) Reed. She was proud of her native Chickasaw heritage. Jan graduated from Hobbs, New Mexico High School. She married Kenneth O. Jackson on May 31, 1968 in Alice, Texas and they moved to Seminole in 1972. Jan was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, south of Seminole, where she was very active. She served as Church Secretary for over 41 years. She had a saying, “she helped raise ten church pastors over the years”. Jan and Ken were very active in Music evangelism and they sang together in many churches and revivals. She even wanted to write a book of all their experiences during their music ministry. Jan had a passion for the Lord and served him well. She enjoyed being with her family. She took great joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved very much. Jan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth O. Jackson of Seminole, Oklahoma, two sons; Warren L. Johnson and his wife Sandy  of Seminole, Oklahoma, Mark Johnson and his wife Yvonne of Marietta, Georgia, four grandchildren, W. Blake Johnson and his wife Jenna of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Kayla Marie Hudson and her husband Frankie (Bubba) of Seminole, Oklahoma, Abbey Nicole Johnson of Alpharetta, Georgia and Logan Myles Johnson, of Marietta, Georgia, four great-grandchildren; Brody James and Beau Jeanelle Johnson, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Bryar Wade and Hadleigh Kay Hudson of Seminole, Oklahoma. She is also survived by one sister, Jacqueline Marie Sesso, of Corpus Christi, Texas and a nephew, Jay P. Sesso, of Corpus Christi, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant son, Orlan Eugene Johnson. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Rev. Ron Duvall officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma. The family will receive family and friends at a visitation on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home. Casket bearers will be Blake Johnson, Logan Johnson, Bubba Hudson, Jay P. Sesso, Shawn Mitts and Greg Walker.
