Janetta Doris (Castoe) Goodin

Janetta Doris Castoe was born to James “Jim” and Alma Varner Castoe on January 31, 1938 in Maud, Oklahoma.  Doris went to be with her Lord on August 21, 2020 at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 21 days.

Doris was born in Maud and graduated from Maud High School.  She married Alvin “Ab” Goodin on December 24, 1955.  Four children were born from this union.  James Wesley, Linda Kaye, Randall Wayne and LaDonna Gayle.

Doris was known for her generous hospitality and happy outlook.  She loved to cook, bake and always had an abundance of food available for friends and family.  No one ever left hungry.  Her home was a favorite gathering spot for her children and their friends.  Doris was always full of laughter and loved to play cards and take care of her loved ones.  She always gave all she had plus some.

Doris worked for the Oklahoma Department of Labor and retired in 2003.  After retirement she moved to Conway, South Carolina where she lived until her death.

Doris is survived by one son, Jim Goodin and his wife Pam of Davis, Oklahoma, daughters Linda Seeger of Conway, South Carolina and LaDonna Cindle of Shawnee, Oklahoma.  Grandchildren Scott, Phillip and Casey Goodin, wives Stacy Laura and Lexia Cooper all of Davis, Oklahoma.  Everett and Justin Price of Conway, South Carolina, April Goodin of Shawnee, Oklahoma, LaCrista Goodin Howell and her husband Shane of Noble, Oklahoma, Jarrod Cindle and his wife Ashley of St. Joe, Arkansas and Jacob Cindle of Meeker, Oklahoma.  Doris is survived by one sister, Billie Clark of Maud, Oklahoma and one sister-in-law, Jean Castoe of Davis, Oklahoma.

Doris had 20 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ab Goodin, son Wayne Goodin, grandson Brandon Goodin and granddaughter Jamie Goodin, two brothers, R.D. and Clarence Castoe, two sisters Georgia Minyard and Inez McMahan,

The family will receive friends Thursday evening August 27, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud with Pastor Butch Bradley officiating the service.  Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.

Casket Bearers will be: Scott Goodin, Phillip Goodin, Casey Goodin, Jarrod Cindle, Shane Howell and Terry Goodin.
