Janet Lowden-Kennedy

Janet Lowden Kennedy, 67 year old long time Saint Louis, Oklahoma resident passed from this life April 1, 2007 at her home in Saint Louis, surrounded by family and friends. She was born March 22, 1940 in Wanette, Oklahoma to parents Marvin Francis (Stiz) Lowden and Joseph Aldis "Joe" Lowden.rnrnJanet graduated from Saint Louis High School in 1958.rnrnJanet owned and operated the Maud Cafe from 1968 until 1978. She then became an insurance agent and owned Farmers Union Insurance in Maud from 1978 until 1982. After her retirement she continued to work, keeping books for the Saint Louis utility company and being tresurer for the First Baptist Church in Saint Louis where she had been a long time member. She was also a member of the "Love For Life" Bible study group.rnrnShe married Evert Kennedy on December 26, 1988 in Saint Louis, Oklahoma.rnrnShe is survived by one daughter, Fran Hurst of Eufaula, Oklahoma.rnrnTwo brothers and sisters-in-law, (Twin Brother) Nobie and his wife Esther Lowden of Saint Louis, Oklahoma. Ed and his wife Shirley Lowden of Ringwood, Oklahoma.rnrnOne sister-in-law, Shirley Lowden of Noble, Oklahoma.rnrnTwo grandchildren, Robert and Tyler Hurst.rnrnShe is preceded in death by her parents, her father died in 1978 and her mother died in 1960. Janet is also preceded in death by one brother, Tom Lowden in 2005 and by her son, Bobby Joe Lowden who died while serving in the United States Army in Germany, January 15, 1991. Her husband, Evert Kennedy also preceded her in 1992. She was also preceded in death by twin great grandchildren, Robert Kyler Hurst and James Skyler Hurst. Janet was also preceded in death by a special friend Charlie Viexu.rnrnFuneral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Saint Louis, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Vista Cemetery West of Konawa, Oklahoma. Brother Glenn Peck will officiate the service.rnrnCasket Bearers will be: Robert Lowden, Junior Lowden, Bill Buley, Tyler Dean, Gary Smith and Don Roberts.rnrnHonorary Bearers will be: Ronnie Silas, Keith Nail and Ed Wilson.rnrnServices are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma.
