Jamie Dean Powell, 49 years old Seminole County resident, passed from this life on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was born June 11, 1968 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Samuel Powell and Virginia (Yahola) Powell. Jamie worked as a Framer, Carpenter and also worked as a Seminole Nation Firefighter. Jamie was a member of the Creek Nation of Oklahoma and was also a member of Peace Tabernacle Church. Survivors include 1 son, Timothy Powell and his wife Lisa of Konawa, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, Sara Powell of Seminole, Oklahoma, Korrie Powell of Olympia, Washington; 2 brothers, Bryan Powell of Seminole, Oklahoma and Jeff Powell of Henryetta, Oklahoma; 3 sisters, Sandra Powell of Seminole, Oklahoma, Kimberly Powell of Holdenville, Oklahoma and Michelle Powell of Seminole, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Jamie is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Virginia Powell, by one sister, Teresa Powell and by one grandchild, Edward Powell. A wake service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Pecan Grove Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Pecan Grove Church with Deacon Eric Thlocco and Pastor Kevin Fox officiating the service. Interment will follow at Yeager Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be: Chuy Santillan Lopez, Tyler Powell, Bryan Powell, Jeff Powell, Louis Ballard and Adam Yahola. Honorary Bearers will be: Stanley Johnson, “Boots”, Craig Farber, Brandon Farber, Kevin Farber and Steve McGirt. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
