James "Mike" Michael Garner

James Michael "Mike" Garner , age 64 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at his home April 10, 2022.

A private family graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Beverly Altizer will officiate, and casket bearers are Phillip Gregg, Nate Gregg, Mickey Postman, Jimmy Tatum, Bruce Faulk, and Brent Garner.

Mike was born October 16, 1957 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Gene Austin Garner and Ruth LaDean (Clinkenbeard) Tomlinson.  He graduated from Konawa High School, and worked as an oilfield derrickhand.  He married Debbie Lou Matthews April 30, 1988 in Konawa.  Mike loved playing games, fishing, mowing, and keeping up his yard.  He especially loved being with his grandchildren, but most of all, he loved being with his "Honey", Deb.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Garner of the home; one daughter, Amber Gregg and husband, Phillip of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one sister, Terri Faulk and husband, Bruce of Peachtree Corners, Georgia; and four grandchildren, Nate, Phoenix, Brooklyn, and London Gregg.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Austin Garner, and his mother, Ruth Tomlinson.
