James "Jamie" Thomas Ennis

September 24, 1949 — February 7, 2023

James “Jamie” Thomas Ennis passed away on February 7, 2023, at the age of 73. He was the son of Thomas “Tommy” and Lillie Ennis of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This bright adventurous boy grew up by the Mississippi River to live a life on his own terms. The Secret Service tried to recruit him out of high school, unsuccessfully. Southwestern Bell employed and transferred him, in 1973, from Texas to Montana to service the first computers on the mountain tops; a job for which very few knew how to do at that time. During his lifetime, he achieved many skills and enjoyed outdoor activities. Among these are big game hunting, fly fishing, sailing, piloting planes, and socializing with friends. Jamie went to Eufaula, OK in 2010 and made himself at home living on the water. He was well-known and loved on the Marina. Always willing to lend a hand and offer a laugh, as his quick wit could spread smiles in any setting. He is survived by his son, Colt Brust of Pottsboro, TX, his daughter Mariah Brust of Frisco, TX, his sister Sarah Lou “Sassy” Shaw of Seminole, OK, as well as an extended family of his brother-in-law and nephews & nieces. He had charisma and the fearless spirit of Jeremiah Johnson. Jamie lived his life as a very unique and intelligent man. He would often say “Such is life. Buy your ticket and take the ride.”

Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
