James Allen Yarbrough

James Allen Yarbrough, 78 year old Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on July 15, 2014 at his home in Seminole.  He was born November 21, 1935 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Albert Yarbrough and Betsy (Lena) Yarbrough. James attended Sapulpa Boarding School and Echee Boarding School in Wyandotte, Oklahoma.  He went on to further his education at Haskell Indian School in Lawrence, Kansas where he graduated in 1956.  He then spent two years in the United States Army in the 35th Division out of Lawrence, Kansas. James worked as a welding supervisor and fitter for 25 years in Tulsa, Oklahoma. James was baptized on September 1, 2013. James leaves to cherish his memory his companion of 16 years, Christine Hotulke of the home; Children, Michael Yarbrough of Okemah, Oklahoma, Regina “Hokte” Yarbrough of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Laura Faye Wilson of Ada, Oklahoma, James Yarbrough Jr. of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Tina Yarbrough of Texas, Sharon Thomas of Seminole, Oklahoma, Tracy Burkhart of Seminole, Oklahoma and Eunice Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma.  He is also survived by one sister, Kathryn Gibson of Konawa, Oklahoma, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Betsy Yarbrough, by three brothers and by one sister. A wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Ed George officiating the service.  Interment will follow at West Cemetery near Wolf, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Waylon Burkhart, Raymond Hall, Woodrow West, Glen Gibson, Scotty Gibson and Alvin Bahewing. Honorary Bearers will be: James Motley, Matt Welch, Dominic Coker and Tommy Gibson.
