James Riley

Seminole resident J. A. Riley, 87 passed away, Thursday, June 28, 2007 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Mr. Riley was born February 14, 1920 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Grover Cleveland and Mae (Bankston) Riley. rnrnMr. Riley met and married Glenda Prevett on March 29, 1944 at the Church of Christ in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Mrs. Glenda Riley survives him of the home in Seminole.rnrnMr. Riley started his oilfield career in Seminole, Oklahoma with B S & B Tank Co. where he worked for 5 years. He then entered the U.S. Coast Guard, Boatswain?s Mate 2nd Class and served during World War II. After the War Mr. Riley went to work for Halliburton Company in 1950. Mr. Riley worked for 32 years and retired in 1982, he was the Sales Manager for the state of Oklahoma when he retired. He also worked with the men at Clay Crossing Treatment Center in Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnMr. Riley was a member of the Church of Christ in Seminole, Oklahoma. Prior to that he was a member of the Henryetta Church of Christ for 17 years where he served as an Elder of the Church.rnrnMr. Riley is survived by his wife, Glenda Riley of the home in Seminole, OklahomarnOne son and daughter in law, Jim and Robin of Edmond, Oklahoma. A daughter-in-law, Kerry Riley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. One brother and sister-in-law; Lawrence and Bessie Riley of San Diego, California. Two granddaughters: Marcie Bazor and her husband Tim and Haley Perry and her husband and three great grandchildren: Charli Bazor, Elisha and Blake Allan.rnrnHe is preceded in death by his parents, one son Allan Riley who died in 2004 and his grandson Blake Riley who died in 1989.rnrnServices will be Monday, July 2, 2007, with a burial at 10:00 A.M. Monday morning at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a 2:00 P.M. Memorial Service at the Church of Christ in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Lyndal Werner and Barry Hupp officiating. rnrnIn Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jim Riley Outreach Inc., 2201 Cardinal Drive, Edmond, Oklahoma 73013.
