James Richard

James Elmer “Duke” Richard, 80 year-old, longtime Seminole resident past from this life Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Pioneer Care Center in Seminole.  He was born August 31, 1929 in Noble, Oklahoma to parents Elmer Richard and Laura (Johnson) Richard. James married Ethel Oleta Davis on May 12, 1947 in Maud, Oklahoma.  He worked in the oilfield for several years and then for the City of Maud sanitation department before his retirement. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ethel Oleta Richard; two sons and daughter-in-law, James and Sheila Richard of Colorado and Dean Richard of Seminole, Oklahoma; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lee and Larry Davidson of Seminole, Oklahoma and Oleta and Jimmy Underwood of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Nora Richard of Kansas; 8 grandchildren, Aaron Underwood, Ronald Davidson, Zac Richard, Valaurie Poulter, Josh Underwood, Sidney Richard, Leslie Underwood, Kellie Richard; three great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Collins Cemetery in Saint Louis, Oklahoma.
