James Walter “J.W.” Pierce, 77, longtime Seminole County resident, died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. J.W. was born October 14, 1939 in the Wolf, Oklahoma area at home to his parents Joe Pierce and Leva (Burgess) Pierce. J.W. worked in the Seminole Oilfields all of his adult working life as a tool pusher and driller. J.W. loved to watch NFL football, go fishing, his horses and loved to grow things in his garden. He is survived by his daughters; Sabrina Dixon of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Tammy Wantland of Chickasha, Oklahoma, one brother Guy “Salty” Pierce of Konawa, Oklahoma and his wife Melinda, his sisters Jo Ann Ring of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Margie Stidham of Berryville, Arkansas; a special niece, Sharlet Huff and her husband Jason, two special nephews, Eldon Veach and Dalton Veach., ten grandchildren; Rachel Dixon, Jeremy Dixon, Doug Dixon, Sarina Dixon, Kandace Lindsay, Cara Lindsay, Kyle Hankins, Ronnie Pierce, Cherish Pierce, Talisa Pierce, ten great grandchildren and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Leva Pierce, Son Ronald Dean Pierce, 2 sisters Argie Parsons and Louise Vible, a brother Les Pierce, Billy Joe Pierce, two great grandchildren, Taylor Ann Dixon and Derek Justice Doughty and a niece Jackie Veach. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Wolf Cemetery with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Casket bearers will be Dalton Veach, Eldon Veach, Tommy Benson, Shane O’Brien, Hershel Ring and Todd Ring.
