James Doyle Nix, 92, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away, Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Avonlea Cottage in Seminole, Oklahoma. Doyle was born on September 10, 1927 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to William Oliver Nix and Viola Joan (Simpson) Nix. He married Leora Faye Lanning on November 17, 1949. Doyle was the longtime owner and president, of D & B Trucks, Inc. in Seminole, Oklahoma. Doyle served in the United States Army, during World War II, from 1945 to 1947 and attained the rank of Sergeant T-5. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church at Letha, a former longtime member of the Seminole Lions Club and enjoyed playing golf. Doyle was preceded in death by his wife Leora Faye Nix on November 26, 2002, by his great-granddaughter, Jade Cross and by a daughter-in-law, Loisetta Nix. Doyle is survived by his three sons; Dennis Nix of Seminole, Oklahoma, Terry Nix and his wife Jeanie of Seminole, Oklahoma and Randy Nix and his wife Lesly of Kingston, Oklahoma, four grandchildren Ryan and Kelly Nix, Houston and Lacey Nix, Amy and Cameron Smith and Jason Cross, and his great grandchildren; Stetson and Carter Nix, Emma Nix, Eden Smith and Dylan Cross. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 18, 2019 at Trinity Baptist Church at Letha, south of Seminole, Oklahoma, with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Cremation Services will follow after the funeral. Honorary casket bearers will be Jerry Bynum, Johnny Nix, Drue Bynum, Jim McLaughlin, Ron Grisso and Dewey Lee.
