James Morrison

James Edward Morrison, 79 year old Little, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Thursday, November 1, 2018 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  He was born November 10, 1938 in the Red Mound Township located north of Seminole, to parents Alta May (Hunt) Morrison and James E. Morrison Sr. James worked for the city of Seminole running heavy equipment until his retirement in 2000.  He continued to work on his farm raising cattle and horses. On November 17, 1956 James married April Ann (Faltermier) Morrison in Shawnee, Oklahoma. James enjoyed tinkering around the farm and watching his cattle.  He also enjoyed his snacks especially Cheetos. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, April Morrison of the home in Little, Oklahoma; by two daughters, Jeanette Jackson of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Nancy Russell of Seminole, Oklahoma; by one brother, Richard Morrison of Kingston, Oklahoma; three sisters, Betty Kean of Seminole, Oklahoma, Cora Lee Hunt of Shawnee, Oklahoma and by Carolyn Hayworth of Seminole, Oklahoma.  James is also survived by three grandchildren, Christina Buchanan, Debbie Millard, Lisa Lyons; eight great-grandchildren as well as a host of other family and dear friends. James is preceded in death by his parents “J.E.” and Alta May Morrison, by one brother Fred Morrison, by one sister Elizabeth Marquis and by one grandson Anthony Jackson. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Chesser officiating the service.  James will be laid to rest at Little Cemetery. The family request that in lieu of flowers you do a kind deed for someone.
