James Luther Morris, Jr., 66, of Norman, Oklahoma died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Norman, Oklahoma. James was born in Tyronza, Arkansas November 27, 1944 to James Luther Morris Sr. and Pauline “ Polly” Morris. James grew up and attended schools in Seminole and graduated from Seminole High School. He was a member of the Seminole Masonic Lodge and attended Western Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. James was the Operations Supervisor for Beaver Express in Oklahoma City and retired in 2005. James served as a Captain in the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. James was married to Bernice Marie Walters on April 5, 1991 in Norman, Oklahoma and she survives him of Moore, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his mother Pauline “ Polly” Morris of Seminole, Oklahoma; two sons, Thomas Morris of Owasso, Oklahoma and Robert Morris of Oklahoma, also survive James. A brother, Bill Morris of Shawnee, Oklahoma and a sister Lynn Stevens of Cleveland County also survive him. James had two grandchildren Sierra and Mesa. He was preceded in death his father Luther Morris, uncle, M.C. “Cub” Morris, his grandfather William Culver “ Pop” Morris and grandmother Leaffie Morris. Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Western Hills Baptist Church at 401 S.W. 44th in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Honorary bearers will be Mike Stone, Dwayne Friech, Ricky Friech, Bill Condren, Don Frisbie, Chad Morris, Daniel Fortner and Matthew Fortner.
