James Theodore McWhorter, 66 James Theodore McWhorter, of Ardmore, Oklahoma passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 in Veteran’s Center at Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 66. James was born March 4, 1946 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to parents, Jet McWhorter and Velma Opal (Swagtery) McWhorter. James was of the Baptist faith, and served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a life long member of the VFW and a retired barber. James is survived by two sons; Robert Ray of Moore, Oklahoma and Michael McWhorter of Louisiana, two brothers; Louis Burl Davis of McComb, Oklahoma, Uylus Welch of Catoosa, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones. James was preceded in death by his father, Jet McWhorter; mother, Velma Opal McWhorter Davis; step father, Louis Ira Davis; sister, Betty Morris; brother, Orvile Welch. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Rush Springs Cemetery, Rush Springs, Oklahoma. Rev. Bill Chesser will officiate the service.
