James L. Phillips

James Lewernce Phillips, Jr., 53, Wewoka resident, died Monday, September 12, 2016 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. James was born on February 3, 1963 in Madera, California to James Phillips, Sr. and Pauline Phillips. James moved to Seminole County 17 years ago from Madera, California. James was disabled but was great at working on cars, small motors, building and many other things. He could do anything he set his mind to. James is survived by his father James Phillips, Sr. of Wewoka, Oklahoma, three sons; James L. Phillips III and his wife Shawna of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Lance E. Phillips of Holdenville, Oklahoma and Robert W. Phillips Sr. and his wife Autumn of Lima, Oklahoma, two daughters Gabrielle Lewis of Holdenville, Oklahoma and Angela Phillips and Leonard Ellis of Hope Mills, North Carolina, one brother Sam Hughes and his wife Sarah of Wewoka, Oklahoma and two sisters Elizabeth Kitty Silva Shakeshaft  and her husband Frederick of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Robin Olsavsky and her husband Matthew of Cambridge, Maryland; eight grandchildren Heather, Bo, Lillianna, Aphrodite, Leo, Jayden, Robert Jr., and Atom. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Heather Phillips, his mother Pauline Phillips, nephew Tom Silva, and grandparents, Betty Whitman and Georgia and Raymond Phillips. Memorial Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma with Billy Chesser officiating, assisted by Johnath Keith. Honorary bearers will be James L. Phillips, Sr. and Robert Phillips. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral Information: September 18, 2016, 3:00 PM
