James Desmond “Jim” Guinn, 92 year old Vancouver, Washington resident, passed from this life on June 23, 2018 at his home in Vancouver surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born April 21, 1926 in Ray City, Oklahoma (near Maud, Oklahoma) to parents, Houghby Desmond Guinn and George Ann (Hoage) Guinn. While in high school Jim loved to play basketball. He went on to earn his associates degree and he also served in the United States Air Force where he earned the rank of Sergeant and was an Air Force pilot. Jim loved to fly so much that following his time serving our country he owned his own plane and continued his passion flying. He lived life to the fullest. At one time, he was a creative business man and later a shrimp boat captain. Jim belonged to the Methodist Church in Stonewall, Oklahoma. On December 15, 1978 Jim married Narcissus Louise (Henderson) Guinn in Gainesville, Texas. Jim leaves to cherish his memories his wife of almost 40 years, Louise Guinn of the home; 2 sons, Rodney Guinn and his wife Kathy of Divide, Colorado, Donnie Waggoner and his wife Cheryl of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 4 daughters, Regina Miller and her husband Ron of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Annette Booze of Edmond, Oklahoma, Lorrie Womack and Bob Piper of Brush Prairie, Washington, Lynda Volz and her husband Brian of Lakeville, Minnesota; 1 sister, Selma Lorene Bennett of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy Barbee, Meagan Jurado, Tiffiny Waggoner, Delilah Scaberry, Rodney Spitter, Melissa Augmus, and Joesph Robinson; 13 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Eddie, Lindel, Jacob, Wyatt, Jojo, Ezra, Malichi, Isaiah, Grayson, Kiera, Tyler and Austin; 3 great-grandchildren, Lawrence, Kadence and Landon; and a host of other family and dear friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Houghby and George Ann Guinn, by three sisters and by one brother. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.
