James Eugene Griffis

James Eugene Griffis, 62 year old lifelong Seminole County resident, passed from this life on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Seminole Hospital.  He was born June 15, 1955 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Beaulah (Elam) Griffis and Hovert Griffis. James worked as a chef for the “Faculty House” private restaurant in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. James enjoyed cooking, playing cards, dominoes and fishing.  He was a member of Community Baptist Church in Norman, Oklahoma. On January 28, 1983, James married Alta Conway in Seminole, Oklahoma. James leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 34 years, Alta (Conway) Griffis of the home; 2 sons, Aviance Griffis of Seminole, Oklahoma, Brandon Griffis of Shawnee, Oklahoma; 1 daughter, Alexis Henderson of Norman, Oklahoma; 4 sisters, Clairetha Davis of Lima, Oklahoma, Glorise Edwards of Lima, Oklahoma, JoAnn Napoleon of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Regina Griffis of Wewoka, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Justice Fryday, Ashonte’ Griffis, Brandon Griffis ll, Cinere Griffis, Makyah Henderson, Aleighna, Lauren Henderson; and by a host of other dear family and friends.
