James Victor Day, 72, of Burneyville, Oklahoma and former Seminole resident, died July 17, 2015 in Marietta, Oklahoma. James was born on January 14, 1943 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, to Dottie (Egnor) and George Day. James grew up in the Lone Grove, Oklahoma area and graduated from Lone Grove High School. He later attended and graduated from Oklahoma State University with an electrical enigeering degree. James retired from AT &T as a construction manager of cell phone towers. While in Seminole he owned and operated a satellite service business, “Day’s Satellite Service”. James was a ham radio operator, former member of the Seminole Elks Lodge, and an airplane pilot. James married Judy Harris Day on June 1, 2001 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. James is survived by his wife Judy Day of Burneyville, Oklahoma, two sons, James Andrew Day of Alabama and Levi Day of Burneyville, Oklahoma, one daughter Kristi Williams of Mountain View, Oklahoma; his brother Kenneth Day of Sarahland, Alabama, his sister Jeanette Coale of Okemah, Oklahoma and his grandchildren, Gabriel Day, Neal Smith, Joanna Spears, Loren Spears, William Day and Dustin Day. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Robert Day. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Sand Creek Cemetery, northeast of Cromwell, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home.
