James Robert "Slim" Crabtree, age 76 and a resident of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away from this life Friday, January 12, 2018 at his home. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate and burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers are David McBride, Russell Littlejohn, Rick Orr, Kevin Britt, Deon Clayton, and Tom Reed. Slim was born April 15, 1941 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Charlie Sipes Crabtree and Ina Marthena (Thomas) Crabtree. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy from March, 1958 to July, 1960. In 1992, he became a minister and was a Chaplain in prison ministry. He also worked in the oilfield. He was a member of the ministerial alliance and a member of Surrey Hills Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, Jeff Crabtree of Bowlegs, Oklahoma; one daughter Jamie Batesel of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, Charles Frank of Ft. Myers, Florida; five sisters, Kay Estes of Seminole, Oklahoma, Mildred Patchin of Oklahoma City; Ruth Halphen of Buris, Louisiana, Clara Huff of San Antonio, Texas, and Alice Danbold of Lawton, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Stephen Minter, Kimberly Taylor, Zakry Crabtree, and Tyler Crabtree; and six great grandchildren.
