James Edward Clark, 80, Seminole County resident, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019 at the St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. James was born on June 15, 1939 in Austin, Indiana in Scott County, to Edgar Lee Clark and Allie Louise (Bannister) Clark. James served his country in the United States Army for 10 ½ years, before his discharge in 1969. He had attained the rank of SP4 and received the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal w/bronze clasp and 2 loops. James worked at General Motors dealerships as an Auto Body Specialist and Trim Tech for 10 years at a GM dealership in Phoenix, Arizona. James enjoyed tinkering around with his automobiles and tractors and things around the house, always seeking a challenge to fix things. He also loved collecting things. James married Sarah Ann (Nelson) Clark on August 3, 1974 in Chandler, Arizona. James is survived by his wife of 45 years; Sarah Ann Clark of the home; three sons; Bobby Lee Clark and Randy Clark of Washington State, and James Robert Clark and his wife Frances of Shawnee, Oklahoma; on daughter Jamie Lynn Ott and her husband Michael of Bearden, Oklahoma, one sister Deloris, grandchildren; Nathan and Mia Clark, Andrew Ott, Jacob Ott and Ashlee and Austin Galyen, and one great granddaughter Alyvia Gaylen. James was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wilbur Lee Clark and one son Billy Clark. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
