Jackie “Porky” Frank Moreland passed away January 18, 2021 at his home in Eufaula, Oklahoma at the age of 83. He was born April 21, 1937 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents James W. Moreland and Rena D. (Haney) Moreland. He grew up in Wewoka and Seminole and was a high school graduate. He worked for many years in the oilfield as a pulling unit operator for Seminole Company Well Service and Mills Well Service. He was a member of Lord’s Community Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Jackie loved people and fishing. He supplied fish for 10 years to his church to feed Seminole at their fish fry’s and he fed over 4,000 people during this time. He loved his family, his friends and his church family. He had some special friends, Buck and Cathy, Bobby Jo and her son and others too numerous to name. He knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He loved to cut up and have fun and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his son James Moreland of Wewoka, Oklahoma, his brother Bud Moreland, his sister Mary Ann Leda and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ora Moreland and his sisters Nelda Jo, Lorraine and Jane.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
