Jackie Lamont Henslee, age 81 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Solara Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. A graveside service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Konawa Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Steve Lowrance and Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate. Jackie was born on September 7, 1932 in Konawa down on the South Canadian River Bend to Joseph Ira Henslee and Tennie (Geuin) Henslee. Jackie was a Konawa High School graduate, and he was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Maxine May Petersen on August 10, 1959 in Las Vegas, Neveda (yes, in a little white chapel). Jackie was a USDA Construction Inspector as well as a farmer and rancher. He enjoyed trap shooting and hunting mushrooms. Jackie is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Maxine Henslee of the home; two daughters, Stacey Jo and Greg Mathis of Durant, Oklahoma and Tina Henslee and Rusty Runnels of Weatherford, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Tennie Henslee and two sisters, Leona Henslee and Billie Loye.
