Jackie "Jack" Cantrell

Jackie Russell “Jack” Cantrell, 57 year old longtime Seminole County, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Seminole Hospital.  He was born March 17, 1960 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to parents, Weldon J. Cantrell and Barbara (Stone) Cantrell. Jack married Holly Marie (Morris) on October 15, 2011 at Wallace Ave. Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Jack worked as the director of security at St. Gregory University in Shawnee, Oklahoma until his retirement. Jack had 30 plus years in law enforcement.  He was very passionate about protecting and serving his community.  Jack was a kind hearted person but could be as tough as nails.  He loved his family and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Holly Cantrell of the home; his mother and father, Weldon and Barbara Cantrell of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two sons, Bobby Cantrell of McAlester, Oklahoma, Mark Cantrell of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Minney and her husband David of Canadian, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Michael, Travis, Nathan, Perrish, Sarah and Lillie; one nephew, Jason Minney of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and dear friends. Jack was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Wayne Cantrell and by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Bro. Blake Martin officiating the service assisted by Justin Wood. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
