Jack Kendall Reynolds

September 24, 1926 — August 8, 2011

Jack Kendall Reynolds passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at Golden Oaks Assisted Living Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma with his family by his side.  Jack was born in Walters, Oklahoma on September 24th, 1926 to Walter and Ina Reynolds.  A year later his sister and playmate June was born.  The family settled in Seminole, Oklahoma where Jack attended school.  Upon turning eighteen, at the beginning of his senior year, Jack joined the United States Navy.  After basic training in San Diego, he set sail on the USS Sperry bound for the South Pacific.  His ship was sailing to Japan when the war was declared over. After the war, Jack returned to Seminole and completed his senior year then enrolled at Oklahoma Baptist University.  While there he courted fellow student, Juanita Ruth Kinnamon.  They wed on June 5, 1949 and were married for fifty-nine years. Jack was an entrepreneur and had the perfect name in that he truly was a “Jack of all trades”.  He owned and operated various successful businesses, ending his career with Reynold’s Construction Company specializing in commercial concrete. Jack was also a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Seminole, serving as a deacon.  He was also instrumental in the planning and building of the new church and the Falls Creek building.  Many will also remember him as the faithful door greeter every Sunday. Jack was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  Many wonderful memories were made at family gatherings around his pool and at holidays.  Everyone looked forward to Jack’s Christmas decorations that he took such pride in.  Jack was also blessed with many dear friends.  He enjoyed his dinner bridge group, his fishing buddies and his many friends from church.  Jack will be missed by all. Jack is survived by his daughter, Holly Frazier and son-in-law, Keith of Stillwater, Oklahoma; his son, Mark Reynolds of Oakland, California; his daughter-in-law, Sherry Reynolds of Medicine Park, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Andrew Reynolds, Kimberley Reynolds, Sommer Frazier, Mackenzie Frazier and Carly Frazier; one sister, June Shier; three nieces, Naomi Mastrogiovanni, Melinda Halverson and Lisa Bennet; as well as a host of other dear family and friends. Jack was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Walter and Ina Reynolds; his wife, Juanita Reynolds and by one son, Stephen Reynolds. We wish to say a special thanks to the staff and residents of Golden Oaks for making Jack’s final days comforting. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, 420 Reid Street in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma.
