Jack Calvin McCraw, age 87 and a former resident of Seminole County, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at The Veteran’s Center in Sulphur, Oklahoma. A Wake Service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31st at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Konawa. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1st also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Konawa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. will officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers are Matthew Kuestersteffen, Bruce McCraw, Mike Dunn, Bill Dunn, Dink McCraw, Roy Wano, and Bob Bassett. Jack was born on July 10, 1924 to James Edward McCraw and Alice (O’Connor) McCraw at Sacred Heart. He married Lavetta Wano at Sacred Heart on September 22, 1946. He was a WWII Army veteran, and he worked as a Welder for Tinker Field. Jack was a member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church of Shawnee, and a member of the American Legion. He loved gardening, fishing, and playing Bingo. He is survived by one daughter, LuAnna McCraw of Park Hill, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alice McCraw; his wife, Lavetta McCraw; two brothers, Ed and Oscar McCraw; and five sisters, Molly McBroom, Ellie Smith, Vesta Hodges, Agnes Lehman, and Maggie Anderson.
