Jack Rudolph Dobbs

November 15, 1928 — August 20, 2012

Jack Rudolph Dobbs, age 83 a resident of Asher, Oklahoma and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Ardmore, Oklahoma. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22nd at the Dobbs Family Cemetery in Asher under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.  Scott Dobbs will officiate, and DeWayne Dobbs will assist.  Pallbearers are Timothy Dobbs, Jon Dobbs, Justin Dobbs, Jaymon Dobbs, Jeremy Wilkins, and Justice Wilkins.  Jacob Dobbs is an honorary pallbearer. Jack was born on November 15, 1928 in Wanette, Oklahoma to Benjamin Franklin Dobbs and Florence (Gregg) Dobbs.  He served in the Army, and he was a Rock Driller for Dolese Gravel Quarry near Sasakwa.  He married Greta “Jeanette” Thompson on July 20, 1951 in Konawa. Jack was a member of Cornerstone Ministries in Asher.                                                          He is survived by two sons, Scott and Carolyn Dobbs of Asher, Oklahoma, and Frank DeWayne and Cathey Dobbs of Asher; one daughter, Marissa Kay and David Lyons of Ardmore, Oklahoma; one sister, Margie Stone of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Laura Jean Gregg of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by, his parents, Benjamin and Florence Dobbs, his wife, Jeanette Dobbs; one brother, Alvin Gregg; and one sister, Alberta Lou Shaw.
