Funeral services for life long Seminole resident Jack Davis are scheduled for 2:00pm, Thursday, Sept 14, 2006 at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Danny Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery, North of Seminole.rn rnJack passed away Saturday morning at Seminole Medical Center after a lengthily illness. He was born on May 22, 1919 to Claud and Dessie Byers Davis. rn rnJack joined the Civilian Conservation Camp when he was 19 years old. He worked a year driving heavy equipment building roads in Colorado. rn rnJack married Maxine Curtess Castleberry on May 2, 1942. rnSix months later Jack left for the Army, he was sent to Miami Beach, Florida for basic training, Maxine soon followed. They spent three months there, he then was sent to Lincoln, Nebraska. He left for overseas duty in September of that year. Jack spent time in England then was sent to Iceland where he spent the remainder of his time there.rnHe was discharged in December of 1945 and returned to Seminole to meet his wife who was coming in from California where she had been working as a welder in the Kaiser shipyard.rn rnJack went to work soon after for Canadian Valley Electric. He worked there 32 years ending up with the title of Right a Way Coordinator, during that time he also did Electrical work at nights and week ends. In 1977 Jack left Canadian Valley to start his own Business "Jack Davis Electric". He owned and operated the business until his death.rn rnHe was a loving husband and father, always playing with grandchildren. In two weeks he would have had his first great grandson, Jaxson.rn rnHe leaves behind his wife, Maxine Davis of the home, son and daughter-in-law; Rick and Sherry Davis, daughter; Pamela Kay Daniel. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Zack Davis, Angela Davis, Brock Daniel, Nicole Davis Daniel and Randy Sigle. Zack and his wife Amanda will be the parents of Jaxson Davis to be born in two weeks. Other survivors include one brother, Lester Davis of Stockton, California, three sisters, Irene Henry of Stockton, California, Ida Willard of Red Oak, Oklahoma, Rachel Dye of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.rn rnHe is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lydia Long of Modesto, California, Bertha Micheal of Stockton, California, two brothers; Lee Davis of Seminole and Donald Davis of Stockton, California. rnJack was known and loved by many people.rnrnPallbearers will be; Zack Davis, Rick Davis, Randy Sigle.
