The Cowboy Rides AwayrnrnLongtime Seminole County resident J. Wendell Scott passed away on October 18, 2006 at the age of 86. He was born on July 4, 1920 in Rattan, Oklahoma to Carl William and Ida Mae (Brinlee) Scott.rnrnHe married Aly'ce M. Elisabeth (Green) Scott on June 22, 1961 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. rnrnHe was a longtime Seminole area rancher and ran a dairy farm for many years. He owned and operated Seminole Packing Company with his brother until 1963. He was a former president for the Seminole Roundup Club, Strother School Board Member for twelve years, a 32nd degree mason, and a life long member of the Seminole Masonic Lodge where he received his 50 year pin. He served during WWII in the US Army where he was a Tech 5 in the 879th Ordnance Company. While there he received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, APT Ribbon and Meritorius Unit Award.rnrnHe is survived by his beloved wife Aly'ce of 45 years, daughter and son-in-law; Laura Susan (Scott) and Kevin Kincade of Seminole, son and daughter-in-law; Gary and Penny Veitenheimer of Cromwell, and daughter Sheri S. Criswell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sister and brother-in-law; Lueetta (Scott) and Amel Darr of Seminole, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren: Kendell Kincade, Khanaa Kincade, Khara Elisabeth Suzanne Criswell, Glendon Gouker, Kyle Gouker, Bobbi Vincent and Billi Wright, six great grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends including a very special niece Theresa Patterson of Shawnee, Oklahoma. rnHe is preceded in death by his parents and brother J.C. Scott.rnrnA memorial service is scheduled for 2:00pm, Friday, Obtober 20, 2006 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Terry Newell, Paskel Bevan and Randy Beauford officiating. rnrnIn lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of J.
