J. L. Robertson, 74, longtime Sasakwa, Oklahoma resident died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at his home in Sasakwa. J.L. was born May 4, 1936 in Seminole, Oklahoma to J. E. “ Jack” and Gladys Roviolent (Saxon) Robertson. J.L. grew up in the Seminole area and served in the U.S. Army Reserves for several years as a corporal. He had lived and worked in Arkansas and Hugo, Oklahoma most of his adult life. He had worked as a route supervisor for Pepsi-Cola in Hugo, Oklahoma for eight years and he later went to work in commercial refrigeration for Woodbright Equipment Company in Arkansas, and retired in 1987. He attended the Church of Christ  at Sasakwa, Oklahoma and was a member of the Odd fellow lodge in Wewoka, Oklahoma. J.L. married Elizabeth Jane (Williams) Robertson in Paris, Arkansas. His Wife Janie Robertson of the home, four daughters Jennifer & her husband Steve Gordon of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Phyllis and her husband Barry Hill of Hugo, Oklahoma, Angela Watkins of Grandbury, Texas and Janet Queen of Hugo, Oklahoma, survive him. One son Steven Robertson of Sasakwa, Oklahoma, also survives him. Seven grandchildren: Hanna Robertson, Brock Watkins, Natalie Watkins, Amy and husband Blake Roberts, Ashley and husband Cory Goff, Jessica and husband Jonathan Good, Jeffery Hill and wife Lindsay along with seven great grandchildren survive him. He is also survived by five sisters Glenda Kelsey and husband John of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Carol Palmer of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, Joyce Jones and husband Paul of Sasakwa, Oklahoma, Brenda Moody and husband Edwin of Bowlegs, Oklahoma and Barbara Bible and husband Jack of Wewoka, Oklahoma, three brothers Jim Robertson and wife Donna of Hugo, Oklahoma, Don Robertson and wife Darlene of Seminole, Oklahoma, Randy Robertson and wife Marilyn of Bowlegs, Oklahoma and one sister-in-law Sandy Bandy and husband Richard. Twenty-six nieces and nephews and forty-eight great nieces and nephews also survive him. Graveside services will be Friday, October 15, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Wolf Cemetery with James Inman officiating. Casket bearers will be Jeffery Hill, Brock Watkins, Paul Jones, John Kelsey, Sr., Eddie Taylor and Gene Choate. Honorary bearers will be Steve Gordon, Barry Hill, Jimmy Choate, Wayne Taylor, Hiram Roulston and Earl Orr. J. L. was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Loretta Ann Robertson and a son, Ronald Wayne Robertson, one grandson Travis Jordan Reed, son-in-law, Ken Watkins, two brothers Terry Loyd Robertson and Jackie Ervin Robertson and one sister Geraldean Kean and two nephews and one niece.
