J. Anita Roberts

Joyce “Anita” (Malone) Roberts, age 47 and life-long resident of the Macomb, Oklahoma area, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2009, at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25th, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel located in Konawa, Oklahoma.  Gary Nickerson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Collins Cemetery in St. Louis, Oklahoma.  Pallbearers are Billy Roberts, Kenny Roberts, Richard Tuley, Donnie Odom, Gary Lindeman, and Jess Thompson. Anita was born on August 13, 1962, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Walter Malone and Fern (McBroom) Malone.  She married Bill Roberts on June 2, 1990 at the Romulus Baptist Church.  Anita worked at G.F. Central Plastics.  She was a loving sister and aunt who liked going to garage sales, collecting paintings, and would do anything for anyone.  She adored her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her two step-sons, Billy Roberts and Kenny Roberts, both of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Chris Malone of Alexandra, Virginia, and James Box and wife, Gisela of Waterloo, New York; two sisters, Melba Malone and Molly Malone, both of Macomb, Oklahoma; four nephews, Jason Malone and wife, Shawnna, and Landon Malone, both of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Jim Box and Matthew Box of Aston, Pennsylvania, and Robbie Box of Illinois; and three nieces, Melissa Malone of Alexandria, Virginia, Teagan Nickerson of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Haydn Truelove of Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Roberts; parents, Walter and Fern Malone; and one brother, Cecil Malone.
