Ivone (Hollingsworth) Nail , age 94 and a resident of Sasakwa, Oklahoma passed away November 5, 2023 at Holdenville General Hospital in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
A Graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Cross Roads Cemetery located at near Sasakwa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. Rev. Bruce Sanders will officiate, and pallbearers are Kenneth Gattenby, Heath Nail, Shawn Streater, Brett Nail, Christopher Hines, and Derrick Bush. Honorary bearers are Melva Heard, Sue Brashier, Mary Blackburn, and Loetta Sanders. The family will greet guests, Tuesday night at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Ivone was born November 18, 1928 in Oakland, Arkansas to Albert Hollingsworth and Mattie (Wilbanks) Hollingsworth. She married Charles Nail on June 11, 1951. She was the Head Cook for the Senior Citizens Nutrition Center in Konawa, and she was a member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church. She also worked for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas and for Michael’s Casuals in Konawa. Ivone loved riding horses, cross stitching, and to be outdoors.
She is survived by one son, Charles W. Nail and wife, Kathy of Sasakwa; two daughters, Cynthia Gattenby of Konawa, and Carolyn Hines and husband, Chris of Asher, Oklahoma; one cousin, Rufina Falwell; six grandchildren, Kenneth Gattenby and fiancé, Michaela Lombardi, Angela Streater and husband, Shawn, Heath Nail, Brett Nail and wife, Tiffany, Christopher Hines and wife, Melody, and Tappatha Bush and husband, Derrick; and seventeen great grandchildren, Kade Streater, Gage Streater, Britney Turner, Halee Nail, Karsen Nail, Mason Burris, Caden Burris, McKenna Nail, Dalton Nail, Alyssa Nail, Cloe Kitchen and husband, Clayton, Christopher, Claire, and Cambre Hines, Avery Bush, Asher Bush, and Axten Bush.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Nail; and one son-in-law, Doyle Gattenby.
