Isaiah Anthony Harjo, 27, Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Isaiah was born June 5, 1989 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Gail R. (Rowe) and Bruce Harjo. Isaiah is a tribal member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. Isaiah was a member of the Hitchitee Indian Methodist Church, Northeast of Seminole, Oklahoma and had worked for Marquis Furniture Store in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Isaiah was always smiling, a good father and loved being with his family. He is survived by his companion Whitney Yargee and his son Lv’mhe’ochee Isaiah Harjo both of Shawnee, Oklahoma, his parents Gail and Bruce Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma, four brothers Daniel Wind and his wife Tracy Wind of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jesse Kent of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Eric Harjo of Wewoka, Oklahoma, and Jorum Johnson of Wewoka, Oklahoma, one sister Sarah L. Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Frances Meshquekennock, and paternal grandparents Imogene and Samsochee Harjo, Aunt Lula Strayhorn and his cousin Donnell Elizabeth Carter. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Hitchitee Indian Methodist Church, Northeast of Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Abraham Jackson and Mildred Harjo officiating. Burial will follow at the Hitchitee Church Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jordan Wind, Joseph Harjo, Mitchell Little, Echoille Johnson, John Harjo, Osceola Little, Jr. and Trey Spencer Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
