Ione Lucille (Ferguson) Tigner

Ione Lucille Tigner, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away at the age of 95 on December 17, 2020 at her home in Seminole. She was born November 4, 1925 in Silver Lake, Iowa to parents Walter Ferguson and Nellie (Reed) Ferguson. She married J.D. Tigner on August 21, 1944 in Vancouver, Washington.

Ione was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed yard work and gardening and going to the Heritage House. Back in the day, she enjoyed square dancing. She also helped her husband J.D. in his welding shop.

Ione is survived by her son; Johnny Tigner, her daughters; Carol Hines and Patricia Porter and her husband Mike, all of Seminole, Oklahoma and her sister; Ila Nelson and her husband Jim. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, grandson, son-in-law and daughter-in-law and five brothers.

Funeral services for Ione will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Annette Myrick officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Tim Porter, Jeff Hines, Trevor Porter, Braden Porter, Tony Tigner and Greg Rogers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
