Hugh Frank Simmons

Hugh Frank “ Sonny “ Simmons, 80, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away, Sunday, March 31, 2019 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Sonny was born on July 15, 1938 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Hugh Frank Simmons, Sr. and Mary Kathryn ( Killingsworth) Simmons. Sonny was a 1958 graduate of Seminole High School. Sonny was a dental lab technician at the Thrasher Dental Lab in Seminole for many years. He attended the Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole, loved to watch OU and OKC Thunder Basketball. Sonny was a member of the Seminole High School Alumni Hall of Fame. Sonny married Veva (Nelson) Simmons on May 4, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Prague, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Veva of the home, sons; Randy Simmons and his wife Tamey of Park Hill, Oklahoma, and Justin Simmons and his wife Brooke of El Dorado Hills, California, his sister Nita Myrick of Midwest City, Oklahoma, three grandchildren; Clayton, Bryce and Blair Kathryn. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Anna Loyce (Prince) Simmons and children Danny and Tammy. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Immanuel Fellowship Church, located on Highway 3 just north of Seminole State College, in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Pastor Tim Emmons officiating. Memorial services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
