Hugh Don Edgell Seminole resident Hugh Don Edgell passed away on July 28, 2010 at the age of 74. He was born on December 11, 1935 to Zephro Edgell and Vivian Lunette Bruce. He married Gwendolyn Edgell on June 1, 1957 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; she preceded him in death on April 23, 2008, he was also preceded in death by brother LeRoy, half-sister, LaVonne Edgell Day, along with his parents. Hugh was born in Snomac, Oklahoma south of Seminole, he joined the US Navy where he was an Aviation Electrician Mechanic 3rd Class. He lived in Iowa and Illinois where he worked for International Harvester Farmall. In 1980 he returned to Seminole and worked for Joe Mills as a derrick hand, he also worked for the Seminole Company. Hugh was an avid sports fan for the Chicago Cubs; he loved hunting and fishing especially blue cat catfish. He was known for his vegetable garden. He is survived by two sons; Mike Edgell of Vilonia, Arkansas and Kevin Edgell of Muskogee, Oklahoma, two daughters, Lori McKinney of Maud, Oklahoma and Kristy Calhoun of Oktaha, Oklahoma, one brother Walt Edgell of Sparta, Wisconsin. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Trent and Dalton of Oktaha, Oklahoma and Jessica and Rachel of Galva, Illinois. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
