Hoyt Darrel McKinley , age 84 and a resident of Asher, Oklahoma passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 11, 2021.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Wanette Cemetery, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. Rev. Toby Willoughby will officiate.
Hoyt was born June 9, 1936 in Wanette, Oklahoma to Van Buren McKinley and Violet (Stark) McKinley. He graduated from Wanette High School, and married Rosemary Hey on May 24, 1955. He worked most of his life as a farmer and rancher and was a member of the Asher Church of Christ. Hoyt loved river fishing and trot lining with his dad and two boys. He enjoyed friends and taking care of and improving his farmland and cattle operation.
He is survived by two sons, Steve McKinley and wife, Cheryl of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Kevin McKinley and wife, Brenda of Byars, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Heather Leann Idell and husband, Cyrus and Krystal Rose McKinley; three great grandchildren, Koen, Violet, and Evan; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Violet McKinley; his wife, Rosemary McKinley; one daughter, Karmen McKinley; one brother, Floyd McKinley; two sisters, Verma Dell Moser and Neon King.
