Howard Delmar Young, 88 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Friday, April 7, 2017 in Benton, Arkansas. He was born January 16, 1929 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to parents Claude Young and Elsie (McGregor) Young. Howard worked for B.J. Hughes as a diesel mechanic and was a member of the Seminole Freewill Baptist Church. On May 3, 1952 Howard married Veta (Mitchell) Young in Gainsville, Texas. Howard is survived by one son, Rick Young and his wife Sheila of Benton, Arkansas; by one sister, Earlene Robertson of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Shawna Anderson, Tara Young, Ryan Young, April Pryor and Aaron Young; 8 great-grandchildren; and by a host of other family and friends. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Elsie Young; by his wife, Veta Young who died on February 14, 2014; by one son, Robbie Claude Young; by one brother, Bill Young; and by one sister, Velma Nabors. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Troy Bordeaux officiating the service. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Mark Easley, Lindell Kay, William Adcock, Jimmy Choate, Joe Beach and Garry Kiker.
