Howard Williams, age 94, a longtime resident of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Monday, April 27, 2020. Howard was born on September 10, 1925, in Cromwell, Oklahoma to parents Robert Montgomery Williams and Leona (Bryer) Williams. He grew up at Plant 13 and after he married he moved to Bowlegs, Oklahoma. Howard married Patricia June Taber in 1949 and she preceded him in death on April 10, 2014, after spending 64 years together. Howard was a carpenter and was very proud of working at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City for many years until his retirement. Howard loved working with wood and made beautiful cabinets, framework and nick nacks. He was a true artist . He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Howard was a member of the Seminole Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was drafted in 1940 in the army and served in World War II and discharged in 1946. Howard loved to smile. Howard is survived by one son, Rick Williams and wife, Jean, of Wewoka, Oklahoma, and one daughter, Neva Vanaria and husband, Basile of Bowlegs, Oklahoma. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Ricky Williams, Jr., Rusty Williams, Shannon Cathey and Shawna Martinez. Great grandchildren are Alexandria Cathey, Alexander Cathey, Cadence Pulver, Isabella Martinez, Aurora Martinez, Aiden Williams and Cooper Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Leona Williams, his wife, Patricia June (Taber) Williams and one sister. Memorial services for Howard will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Bowlegs First Baptist Church with Brother Bill Burns officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
