Homer Dobbins 85 year old longtime Maud resident passed from this life Sunday, September 24, 2006 at Seminole Medical Center. He was born September 30, 1920 in Sage, Arkansas to parents Dewey Schofield Dobbins and Sallie (Helm) Dobbins.rnrnMr. Dobbins had served in the United States Navy during World War II. He received and Honorable discharge on February 2, 1946. He had attained the rank of storekeeper first class. He also received the Good Conduct medal and the Victory medal.rnrnAfter his military service Dobbins worked over 30 years as a postal clerk at the Maud Post Office. He was also a member of the Maud Church of Christ.rnrnMr. Dobbins is survived by two nieces; Sue Bohannon and her husband Gary Bohannon of Maud, Oklahoma and Sally Kelton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.rnrnOne sister-in-law, Frances Dobbins of Humble, Texas.rnrnGreat nieces and nephews; Lisa and Sean Troub of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Kim and Shane O'Daniel of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Stephanie and Aaron Corbett of Oklahoma City, OKlahoma and Jeffrey Kelton of Norman, Oklahoma.rnrnTwo great great nieces.rnrnOne great great nephew.rnrnAnd a host of other family and friends.rnrnDobbins was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Thomas Dobbins; one sister, Mary Pate and one nephew, Tommy Pate.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at the Church of Christ in Maud, Oklahoma with Frank Brewer officiating.rnrnInterment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud with Military Honors.rnrnCasket Bearers will be; Sean Troub, Shane O'Daniel, Rennie Troub, Aaron Corbett and Jeffrey Kelton.rnrnServices are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home at the corner of Broadway & Monroe in Maud, Oklahoma.rnPhone 405-374-2424.
