Homer Eugene “ Gene” Asbury, 73, former Seminole resident died Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Gene was born on May 15, 1940 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Cecil Wayne and Ruby Dean Asbury. Gene was a Chemical Cleaning Department Manager for the United States Environment Services in Houston, Texas, he retired in 2011. After his retirement Gene moved to Lake Eufaula and enjoyed his time fishing. He was a graduate of Seminole High School. Gene lived in Wyoming and Texas for many years. Gene married Sharon Allison on February 1, 1963 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Gene is survived by his wife, Sharon Asbury of Stigler, Oklahoma his three sons, Patrick Asbury of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Austin Asbury and his wife Deana of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Michael Asbury of the home; two sisters Dorothy King of Bixby, Oklahoma and Billie Patterson of Casper, Wyoming and four grandchildren Connor, Allie, Devan and Ava along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Phyllis Rose and Mary Allen Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Danny Gene Allison, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Logan Allison, Ronnie Allison, John Allison, Scott Allison, Cheyenne Allison and Cody Allison.
