Hollie “Kaye” (Daniel) Harber, 78 passed away on August 7, 2020.

Hollie Kaye Daniel was born December 31, 1941 to Jep and Ardith Daniel in Shawnee, Oklahoma. When Kaye was born she already had two older brothers, Bob and Jack. These three would become best friends for life. They had many great adventures together.

Kaye was a vibrant, beautiful girl who excelled in academics and sports in her school in Bowlegs, Oklahoma. While her brothers Bob and Jack were major sports stars, Kaye would become homecoming queen in Bowlegs.

Kaye left Bowlegs to attend the University of Wyoming. There she lived with her Aunt and Uncle, Emma and Jack Fitzpatrick. They had four children, Gabby, Frank, Kathy and Mary Lou. Kaye became a part of this family as well and was like the fifth child. Kaye had a strong relationship with the amazing Fitzpatrick family all of her life.

Kaye studied nursing in Wyoming and became an RN. Kaye had a legendary career in nursing. She came back to Oklahoma from Wyoming where she became the Director of Nursing at Seminole Hospital. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.

She married Frank Hershell Harber Jr. in Seminole, Oklahoma. In 1965 they had Frank Hershell Harber III and then Daniel (Danny) Robert Harber in 1967.

Kaye held the top nursing positions in multiple hospitals in Oklahoma and Texas. She would eventually transition to skilled nursing facilities. When she retired, she was the Regional Vice President of the largest nursing home chain in the state of Texas.

Kaye was a devout Christian and was baptized with her brothers in Seminole, Oklahoma. She later attended and became a member of the Episcopal Church in Seminole. Later in life she frequently attended Champions Crossing Church in Dallas, Texas which is pastored by her son Dr. Frank Harber. Kaye also served on the Board of Directors for The Institute for Christian Defense.

Kaye Harber was highly respected in all walks of life. She was a guest at gubernatorial inaugurations and was most recently invited to the 2017 Presidential Inauguration by the President of the United States of America.

Kaye was also an avid art collector and owned a very large collection of paintings by artists such as Enoch Kelly Haney, Gary Montgomery, G. Harvey and many others. Her home was a virtual gallery composed of amazing prints.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents Jep and Ardith Daniel, her brothers Jack and Bob Daniel, and brother-in-law Kenny Loyd.

Kaye is survived by her sons, Frank and Danny Harber, daughters-in-law, Becky and Patsy, her grandchildren Zack, Savanna, Graham, Gabrielle, Hunter, and Hannah Harber, four great grandchildren, sisters Shange and Patsy, her nephews Steve, Johnny Duke, Jep, Jack, Lance, and Ryan, her nieces Ann, Toni, Tracey, Jackie, and Angie, sisters-in-law Lovell, Sue, Cecelia, and Nila.

Kaye considered her greatest accomplishment her two sons.

Her son Danny Harber is the current President of AfterEx, which provides health care consulting. He is also a Chaplain in Texas. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University, holding BS and Masters degrees in speech pathology.

Her son Frank Harber is an attorney and minister in Texas. He holds a M.Div. and Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas A&M University School of Law. He is currently the President of the Institute for Christian Defense, CEO of Harber Law Group, and the Senior Pastor of Champions Crossing Church in Texas.

If you knew Kaye, you know she lit up the room everywhere she walked in. Her laugh was legendary. She was so full of joy. Now her light shines bright in the Heaven of God.

The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, August 14th at Swearingen Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 15th, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
