Henry English

Henry Alton English, Jr. 72 year old lifelong Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He was born April 2, 1945 in Seminole to parents Henry Alton English, Sr. and Corine (Johnson) English. Henry went on to serve in the United States Army. On June 13, 1966 Henry married Fredricka “Fred” English in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the home of Elder Bobby L. Williams. Henry worked for Kerr-McGee for 28 years where he was a pumper, gauger and he also worked in the pump yard. Henry was a member of the Bass Pro Club, he also loved playing pool, backgammon and was an avid “shade tree domino player”.  He always seemed to win at whatever he was playing. Henry leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 50 years, Fredricka “Fred” English of the home; 2 sons, Carlos English of Seminole, Oklahoma, Byron English and his wife Samantha of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, Wendy English of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sheri Barnett and Stephanie Sims of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Howard English of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Jonathan English and his wife Verna of Alameda, California;  one sister, Gwendolyn English; 4 grandchildren, Lanikia Barnett, Deonte English, Aneas English and Taryn English; 4 great-grandchildren, Aarlyn English, Kaesin English, Imogene English, Kassidee English; and a host of other family and dear friends. Henry was preceded in death by his mother, Corine English, by his father, Henry Alton English, Sr., and by one brother, Tyrone Harris. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.  J.C. Simpson and Carl Whitfield will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole. Casket Bearers will be: Shane Pebworth, Gary Tolsen, Jimmy Don, Ollie Adams, Larry Minihan, and John King. Honorary Bearers will be: Buster Wilcox, Dewayne Goodnight, and Harold Henly.
